Diallo is director, choreographer and lead dancer of the Senegalese dance troupe, Black Soofa. Hailing from the southern Casamance region of Senegal on the west coast of Africa, he has been dancing since childhood. After intensive training with various dance masters in Dakar, Diallo joined the ballet troupe Foret Sacree, performing throughout West Africa and later throughout Europe and the U.S.

If you have never seen traditional West African dance before, Diallo's unbounded energy mixed with athletic finesse provides an uplifting introduction to an art that both soothes and energizes while creating a community spirit. For those familiar with African dance, Diallo's artistry - accompanied by accomplished local drummers - will move and inspire you.

As always, come early to eat dinner in the restaurant or on our new landscaped patio, or you may be served in the hall. But be prepared to move; the infectious rhythms will get under your skin and you will find it hard to sit still!

All proceeds will go to the artists and to support the Abene festival in August in Brattleboro, where Caro Diallo will teach African dance and drumming. More information on  African dance (as well as the Abene festival) will be available at the show!
