 He is quickly becoming the favorite performer in a town full of great performances and outstanding artists. 

Chris O'Brien's Lighthouse CD is an album of quiet, sophisticated beauty that serves as evidence that O'Brien is indeed one of Boston's best singer-songwriters. After growing up in an environment filled with music and musicians it seems only natural that O'Brien's full length debut sounds so finely crafted.

Lighthouse's hauntingly sparse instrumentation and wistfully literate lyrics are the result of years of hard work and fine songwriting. The influences heard are identifiable, but not prevalent. The emphasis is on the lyrics, which are Chris O'Brien through and through. The songs linger after they finish, like the last wisps of smoke from a fire, due in part to the bare-bones sound that the record possesses. The songs consist mostly of a single guitar, bass, and drums with an occasional, lonesome slide guitar part whining its way into the mix.
